Mommy Mondays
Every Monday at 11 am new moms and babies gather for stories, songs and book talk. For babies 18 months and under.
Toddler Story Time— Tuesdays 10:30 am and Wednesday at 2:00 pm, stories, coloring and fun around a theme, from puppies to weather to barnyard friends. Ages 18 months to three years.
Franklin
Fridays with Franklin— meet our treasured and wonderful-with- children Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Franklin enjoys being read to (and any other attention as well).
Young Critics Club—young book lovers ages 8 to 12 gather monthly to read and discuss publishers' advance review copies (ARCS). Read books not even out yet! Meets 4:00-5:00 pm the first Tuesday of each month. Reservations please.

Books for Good: Food Pantry Thursday, July 1, 2010
10:00am - 5:30pm
This month's Books for Good is the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force, aka the Food Pantry. They are an all-volunteer coalition of community organizations, houses of worship, and concerned citizens dedicated to assisting local families who need food. 10% of all our sales on Thursday, July 1st will go to this worthwhile, local cause. Got gifts in this or upcoming months? Choosing to shop on our first Thursday is an easy way to be an everyday philanthropist.

Writing books for Children and Teens Thursdays, July 8—August 12, 2010 from 10:30am-12:30pm
Interested in writing for middle grade readers and/or young adults? This six-week workshop, under the guidance of professional author and teacher Phyllis Shalant, will help you recapture the child's world with its unique heightened senses, and explore key elements of the writer's craft. How it works: Writers range from beginners to those with works-in -progress and beyond. We gain from the shared insights and ideas of all participants. Each session includes a book talk, in-class exercises, and the opportunity for writers to read and discuss their chapters.
