Our Potter party was all we'd hoped it would be and then some, thanks to a wonderful turnout of over a hundred guests! A fan of both Harry Potter and The Voracious Reader made the front page of the Sound and Town Report!
Butterbeer (or was that pumpkin juice?) was courtesy of Izze's elfin enthusiast. Houses were sorted, wands were made, popcorn served in starry wizard caps. Puzzles were solved, games played and Bertie Botts counted. Wizard Mad Libs gave us the memorable line: Dumbledore was fly. We reminisced with a reading from The Sorcerer's Stone. .
The costumes were wonderful and the excitement palpable as we approached that magic moment when we commanded Accio Book 7! Soon eager noses were stuck in books while readers munched on the
scrumptious Hooray for Harry cake from La Pinata Bakery of neighboring Mamaroneck.
Much gratitude to Team Harry, our remarkable group of staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly and with great enthusiasm. All in all, a lovely way to send off our Harry, and make wonderful new friends for future adventures as well! |
